| Tanto Jutsu Shokyu Course |

The Shinbukan will offer the Shokyu course for Tanto Jutsu starting Monday June 7. The course will start with short sword and evolve to tanto. |

Anyone 14yrs and older is invited to attend this worthwhile project. If you plan to participate, please arrive at the Shinbukan at 7:30AM on Sat. June 12. We will travel as a carpool to the site. SAI JUTSU SHOKYU COURSE Testing will be Monday, April 26th & May 3rd 6:30PM |

Starting Monday January 4th, the Shinbukan is offering a rare opportunity for individuals to earn a Shokyu grade in classical Sai Jutsu. This course is in compliance with the standards of the International Sogobudo Federation and the International Bukijutsu Federation. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the proper and authentic tactical methods for the first level of Sai training. The Shokyu Examination will given at the end of the course. |

| Martial Tactical Training |

A one day, two hour, hands-on introduction to reality based professional personal protection training designed for private citizens. Participants will learn the basic fundamentals of armed and unarmed tactical solutions geared towards the controlling of personal assaults. Tactics and techniques covered will include applications of recommended modern daily carry items and their unarmed equivalents. These modern protection technologies are taught to Military and Law Enforcement Officers and are now available to the general public only through this specialized training seminar. This is a must attend event for everyone with a CCW in Ohio. Note: do not confuse or compare this elite type of training with common self-defense or martial "arts" methods. WHEN: Sunday September 27th, 2009. Starts at 1:30 PM. | Shinbukan Members Receive Tactical Firearms Training: Oct 2008 |

Congratulations to the following members of the dojo for completing 4 sessions (32 hour) training program with Officer Kevin Davis in firearms tactics ending on October 11, 2008. This included handgun safety, legal aspects of firearms usage, air-soft tactical training, live-fire accuracy and tactical training, concealed draw & fire and some specialized scenario training. Course completion also included certification for Ohio CCW application. Those completing the course: Mr. Begue, Ms. Lewis, Mike Welday, David Kidd, David Ball, Alex Lanshe, Gina Fortunato-Begue, Annette Marsolais, Gary Masucci, Nick LaBasi, Greg Royse and Dr. Dunphy. Officer Davis is the tactical firearms training officer for the Akron Police Department and S.W.A.T.team and is involved in training federal air marshals and others involved in professional personal protection tactics. |
